Question Refusal to go into 1st

I encountered a strange hiccup tonight, it may have to do with the fact it was 16F outside, but the engine was at least 20 minutes past being warmed up.
I drive in s-sport normally to reduce clutch wear, and typically coast in third to a stop to where it automatically goes into neutral with the brake applied.
Once brakes are released, the SST goes into first to where I take over and shift from there.

The issue I noticed is that it visually indicates 1st gear, however upon accelerating from a stop it "feels" like it's starting in 2nd and it will go into second the moment the car moves. I confirmed this by getting the triple "nope beep" when attempting to downshift into 1st to idle around a parking lot.

I scanned for codes right away, with the car still running in the same key cycle as the issue was occurring, and pulled no pending or active codes...
I also saw no failure messages in the cluster, just the issue of not being able to go into first.
All other gears worked fine, I paid special attention to 3 and 5, all behaving normally.

Any ideas? Internet searching turned up some problems with gears hanging, or even/odd gears failing but nothing like this. I have not driven it since, and I half expect it to work fine on the next key cycle.

Just an update, the issue went away this morning. Odd, hopefully it's not going to be a recurring event.
It seems the SST tends to have random flukes like this every so often according to online searches.

Haven't had the problem since the SST fluid change.

Maybe a thermostat for the cooler would help?
