3g eclipse crank but no start
3g eclipse crank but no start
ok im pretty familiar with mitsubishis and dsms. i am working on a 2003 Eclipse 2.4l automatic trans. the timing belt and balance shaft belt had snapped while driving it. i couldnt do a true compression test with no belt on it since i dont have the nice tester. so i went ahead replaced the timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, CPS and fuel pump all at once. got it all timed up correctly perfectly. it now cranks but doesnt start upon completion. the compression in cylinders 1 - 180, 2 - 180, 3 - 165 and then gradualys makes its way to 180, 4 - 180. should be good enough compression to start. fuel pump is working checked fuel from injectors and it is spraying, checked spark and found out the hard way it is working. i sprayed a little starting fluid into the intake tube and it started and ran for about 15 seconds before it dies. my head hurts from this 2 day project please help with any incite. sorry about the long description but i wanted to get it all in here
If you're positive you have fuel, spark, and air getting to the compression chamber, the most likely problem is timing. Recheck that everything lines up perfectly at TDC then recheck to make sure the CPS is aligned as well.
