ECU and Harness Options 2003 Outlander
ECU and Harness Options 2003 Outlander
Hello,
I am the new owner of ER's Evo-Lander. I am looking for information on ECU and Harness options. The Chasse is 20 years old now and with the ECU that is in it the ROM is limited with functionality (drive by wire, flex fuel, traction control, boost by gear...). I would also like to get this harness out of the car, it is old and brittal.
I am reluctant to just put in a used Evo8/9 ECU and Harness putting in a 20-year-old harness in to a 20 year old car just does not seem like a fix.
I am starting to do the research now and any help is appreciated.

There aren't any options, I'll just take it off your hands so you can avoid the hassle lol.
But for the real answer, I think its Ohm Racing I have seen that offers a whole new engine harness that you could get setup to run on aftermarket ecu like a link or a haltech. I'd probably start there and see what you can find.

Yep, they do, it looks like that is a really good option.
Not back at home tell end of April, I want to dig into the car a little bit before i pull the trigger on the harness and will need to find a Tunner for it. Talked to a local shop they would want me to do all the wire work first and make sure it all works before installing an ECU and Tunning it... only real way i see that working is getting a used Evo 8 harness putting it in the car and confirming what i need to splice in. Pushing in the ROM i have for it making sure it all runs then doing the fancy harness.
Don't feel great about doing things twice but also don't want to throw 6-7K at it in the wrong direction. Off the top of my head i am not sure why a Evo8 harness (OEM or OHM-Racing) would not work... but if it does not...
The other option is going with a flying lead harness.
