Why are WRC cars so squeaky?

This is a dumb question, but all the WRC squeak like crazy when the suspension is working, you can even hear the suspension squeaking in Colin McRae Rally 04 on the Xbox which is pretty funny.

Is this something to do with suspension bushings?

My guess would be the use of urithane bushing in the suspention.

What you're probably hearing is the blow off valve, not the suspension. The suspension on our rally car doesn't squeak.

the answer is that it could be many things. when mechanical parts move, they usually create some noise. In road cars, care is taken to eliminate that noise. In race cars, that is unnecessary and often undesirable.

Bushings-no doubt. I've heard the same thing out of many torsion bar sprung 911's that have been upgraded for track use or full race.

The rapid "squeaking" noise you hear on rally cars is wastegate flutter.

Im assuming that the "squeaking" noise you are referring to sounds like the sqeaking noise in this video for an example. The squeaking is most easily heard at about 30 secs in (if you are deaf and cant hear it the other times)

They don't use urethane bushings in WRC cars they use spherical rod ends. Urethane may be great for the street but there is still too much flex in them for race cars.

I thought the sound was the blow off valve venting from the anti-lag.

Import upgrade is right. That sound is the wastegate. You wont see a bov on a WRC car these days.

Rose joints are used in the suspension, and yes thye also make noise, but you wont be able to hear it over the other noises.

Well the sound usually comes out only when the driver lifts his foot off the throttle..so what is it? The wastegate or the suspension?
