What SCCA class would I fall into?

I am going to be running upgraded turbo w/2.3 stroker, full coil-over system, upgraded sway bars, big brakes, full cage, wide-body to compensate for the larger tires.

I am sorry, I tried to search, but I didn't fin anything that was 'clear-cut' this is where you should be.

THanks.

Depending on what "full cage" and "widebody" means you _could_ fit into SM.

Is this a dedicated autocross car or something else you'll just be autocrossing?

Mark, are you going with a widebody kit or rolling your fenders? Also, I assume you will run the Pro's this year (Toledo, Grissim?) and working some of the SoloII driver classes.

To clarify what he said... In Street Modified, you need to leave the interior trim pretty much in the stock configuration. As long as your cage meets the general Solo 2 requirements for a cage, and it doesn't involve stripping out large pieces of the dashboard, headliner, etc., it should be legal in Street Modified. It won't be an optimal setup for SM -- for autocross, you need the weight reduction more than you need the rigidity and crash protection.

As for "widebody" -- in SM, the rear fenders may not be replaced (for instance, with a bodykit). They may be substantially modified for tire clearance, but replacing the whole panel is not allowed.

As for the rules being clearcut, there are only four possible classes where your car could fit as you've described it. If you meet the requirements above, you can run SM or SM2. If you don't, you can run EM or AM, but your car wouldn't stand a chance against a competitive EM or AM car.

yes, I am considering running widebody front fenders with 18x10 and 285/30/18 in the front, with a 17x8.5 rear rim and a 245/40/17 rear tire. Not totally sure yet, but that is the direction I am leaning.
