here are pics of the caliper ducts I just got....

The welds are not pretty, but overall it looks like a very sturdy and functional piece.

Do you think the inlet on that duct is big enough for adequate cooling? It seems almost standard to use a lot larger vent tubing, maybe 5-6" diameter.

I wonder why they think it's necessary for the special bolt and strang washer. Looks like if would directly fit using the current caliper mounting bolts.

Will you be leaving the heat/dust shield on and if not what are you going to do with the ABS sensor wire?

I am going to guess that the strange washer is made of titanium and is designed not to conduct heat into the duct. -- possibly necessary due to the temperature limitations of the tubing?

5-6" tubing would be a real pain to plumb from the front of the car!

This solution looks to work quite well. I am thinking of fabricating something similar

yeah,
the size of the caliper duct would have been alot bigger if space allowed. The heat sheild should be able to stay, no problem... I'll mount these on once I get my 2" silicone hosing and post more pics... I think this set up should work 'very' 'very' well... but we will really see how it works at the next track meet.

Since I have had so many guys emailing me about this I am considering making some drawings on the size and specs of this thing.. I'll post PDF links to them later (when I have time)

Nils,

You should consider talking the heat shields of... No need for them on the track, just trapping heat...

Deetz,
sorry but I wont really have time to make a template for the caliper ducts, between work and family and tracking there is so little time. These ducts should be made more available in the states soon though.

RoundPro,
I thought that removing the heat shield would expose rubber boots and grease, etc to heat... shortening the life span extensively... should I not worry about it?

RoundPro, I emailed Forced performance, but got no reply. Tell me more about the design of the great kit they did for you... I tried www.forcedperformance.com but didn't see anything jump out at me where it was. It is just a one-off, or are they going to productize it for the rest of us?

Deetz.

They came up with a great easy solution that works very well, leave them a message and they'll get back with you, trust me, they know their stuff!

Just called - mailbox full - not answering emails, not answering phone -

Give me a hint on what they did, and how they did it. Please.

Deetz.

What did you do with the ABS wire that's attached to the dust shield? I attempted to take the shield off once before but the ABS wire seems to short to mount securely to a non moving part.
