Could trim it to protect just the rubber boot on the suspension arm, leaving the rest of the rotor uncovered. In my case I had to cut off the squared piece (were the M6 bolt is on the pic) to give clearance between the stoptech rotor and the suspension arm. pics:

Here's what I did with the ABS wires:

Plastic zip ties don't work well here (they'll melt) - better off with some safety wire.

well... mostly cuz there isn't a seamless and cheap solution :].

you know i'm kinda tired of waiting around for someone to make one of these. and the piece from the uk is way expensive. i'm thinking of making something like the first picture above, does anyone know of a place that sells oval aluminum piping?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...chmentid=58106

i found this place from the timskelton site http://www.butlerbuilt.net/airmansyst.html

that oval tubing down there at the bottom of the page, which is already beaded, costs 19 per foot. using 60 thousandths al.

i say you cut maybe a 3" section, put a little angle on the cut maybe 2* then find the placement on the caliper and then cut a mounting plate and have it welded in a shop. for that 5 minutes of weld time it couldn't cost more than 50 bucks all together.

and if there are any clearance issues with the oval tubing and the hub area you can always tap a little of the oval tubing in so that it is more bean shaped.

i guess the only problem with this exact idea is that you need to use 3" hose, which is not a big deal cuz the hose isn't where space is cramped and since most duct inlets are 2.5 you can just use a transition hose.

for an added kicker, to those running the cwest bumper, you can use the bottom two inlets on the bumper and mold one of these http://www.stockcarproducts.com/duct1.htm (they come in other more appropriate sizes) into the inlet and you'll have yourself a proper ducting inlet. i was thinking of doing a lot of trial and error cutting then using one pop rivet and a lot of epoxy to make it an integral part of the bumper.

bumpers that already have brake duct inlets include the valdi sport pumper which gruppe-s is currently offering at 900 bucks and the gramlights bumper which aspec will be offering shortly for around 500 (ducts included). if you want to see what the gramlight bumper looks like check out the hks meet video on socal evo

the Valdi sport looks very functional... I would love to try it. But not worth $900.. I'll wait till the $400 version comes around.

Robi has been busy wrapping up some personal stuff.. once that is dealt with I am sure he will have more time to focus towards the caliper ducts.
