SCCA Membership - FYI

SCCA Membership - FYI

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On your SCCA membership/renewal there are boxes you check off for which programs you are 'interested' in. Did you know that if you check off more than one, that portion of your 'dues' go to fund those aspects of the SCCA? I just found this out.

If you want your membership dues to go towards all the aspects you check off, by all means go for it. I'm a member of the SCCA so I can, for the most part, participate in SOLO. I'm just going to scheck off 'Solo' on my next renewal so I know that my money goes ONLY into the SOLO program.

Sure, if you're interested in multiple aspects of the club and wouldn't mind, go for it... but with $$ becoming an issue with the Solo program, those soloists on this forum might be better served if we make note of this... that we want our $$ going toward Solo and not other programs.

Feel free to pass this around. I'm not saying you 'should' or 'shouldn't' do this... just a suggestion.

I just learned that recently myself. It's too bad it's been such a well-kept secret, most of my dues have been going to programs (pro racing, club racing, rally) in which I have only a marginal interest. It's no wonder SCCA thinks Solo isn't pulling it's own weight...

The problem is that Club racing is sucking all the money out of the SCCA. The solo program has been doing well, but the SCCA thinks Club racing is the be all end all.

Then send a clear mesage on your next renewal. I used to check off 'Rally' because I loved to watch and hear about them... not realizing that it was going to 'take away' from the solo program.

Remember that Rallycross and Road Rally are still under the Rally Program for SCCA!

I have always checked club racing as I had known that is what the SCCA did.
