Some in-car autox footage...

I finally fabbed up a home depot spec camera mount for my evo.

I mounted it to the center tether on the rear deck.

Anyway, the video came out very good even without any vibration damping material.

The footage is my fastest run from a NNJR PCA event at Giants Stadium yesterday. The time is 50.4. As a reference, Pat Salerno in his Z06 ran 49.0 around the same time of day. My car is in "ESP" if you will, Tein RA's and RA1's on 17x9's, stock otherwise.

Thanks for posting. Your camera angle is unique. It makes the cockpit look much larger, almost like a pickup truck. It would have been nice to mount it a little closer to the windshield. That could have picked up more engine noise. Your exhaust sounds stock. Time for a turbo back!

I wanted a mount to see if taking video is actually worth it. The easiest place to mount one was the rear deck. I would really prefer something closer too. The actual position is about 8" above the rear deck and the lense is in line with the rear seat. Wide angle too.

redvolution...I'll post a few pics in a couple days. It's very simple though, some Aluminum angle stock and square stock (hollow) with some 1/4-20 hardware (overkill).

camera ideas

did you think of c clamping a bar into the upper seatbelt mounting holes... may-be a bar from seat to seat for ultimate stability. If your seats are even it might clamp up with some shims? Also, you could run some pvc it could flex and that would give you a solid bar if it was clamped on both seats. The sparco harnes bar would provide a solid bar to mount from $$$ ? Oh you could use the Aluminum angle to stiffen up the pcv?
