Nahh, they won't kill it that fast. It's growing and they need to give it time to grow.

They'll give it another year or two before it gets killed off (if particiaption numbers aren't increased). It's not like the old ST-R that was pathetically subscribed to (yet, I was one of them that ran ST-R). I believe they said in one of the town hall meetings they'd not be making STU a class until 2007 ish so it gives time for 1) rules stability and 2) allow it to grow. It (Becoming a recognized class) won't happen this year at or before Nationals. No way, no how. So you'll have a 'Class winner' and not a National Champion. And no, you won't get a Jacket unless they change that AGAIN.

STS was made a 'class' way too qucikly. STX should have been a class one year sooner.

The deal with the '25' number isn't a basis for 'becoming a national level class elegible for a Championship'. If you meet 25+ at nationals, you'll get your own run group instead of running at the same time as the class you'd get bumped to.

What I find funny is you need a high number of cars in the class to MAKE it a class a couple years in a row, yet some of the Mod and Prepared classes don't even make that number. And every year they keep saying 'they might not be a class next year' then they don't drop thge hammer, yet just change the number that those classes need to meet.
