TME : Suitable turbo for road racing?
#2
Yes very good. Do you frequent a HP or technical track? Anyway Id focus more on proper suspension setup and tire combos, you should be competative even if your down on HP on a big HP track. When you get good then a 3071 or 3037 would dominate

How much road-racing are you planning on doing? How much experience do you have. I would try to max out my ability first, without modding the car. Then going to brakes and tires. If you feel you are maxing out the potential of the car, only then would I go to more power and more technical suspension. If you're hitting the track 5-6-7 times a year, try to baseline yourself first.

The turbo should be your LAST modification, not your first. You should get exhaust, intake, down pipe, cats, fuel pump, fuel injectors, boost controller, some form of tuning such as air-fuel controller, bigger intercooler, and cams -- all BEFORE you upgrade the turbo.
