Zoom Zoom Live Anyone?

Not sure if this should go in this forum section. But here goes,

Did anyone go to the Mazda ZoomZoomLive Los Angeles event? I saw at least one blue Evo there. If so, how did everyone do in the Performance Challenge Timed trials?

I was only able to get a 34.800 The fastest time over the weekend was a 33.14 and the Professional Driver who set that course did a 33.009. I saw him do that lap in real time. Incredibly unremarkable and uneventful. But it was incredibly smooth, without any tire squealling or burned tires/brakes. The guy made it seem like he wasn't trying at all. I think if he'd pushed it a bit, he will be in 32.

if its anything that was like the one up in the bay area, get there before it opens. it was the most unoganized event ive ever been to. your appointment times mean nothing, and expect 2-3 hours lines to do anything.

I was there! I scored a tantalizing 38.XX seconds (still better than my buddy's time). I didn't bring my Evo and I didn't see any Evos there. I saw plenty of nice rx-7s and a lotus Elise.

A very fun event. Too bad Mitsu can't afford to do something like that.

i was there too, scored a 42 haha as it was my first autocross event. maybe it was just me but i had a really hard time getting traction through the turns as compared to the rx8. i was also one of the few to burn out or launch in the beginning on accident because i didnt know how well the clutch grabbed and i fishtailed like mad almost through every turn. good thing i didnt get thrown out of the event haha...

Yup. Definitely get there EARLY....as EARLY as possible coz in the morning the wait is 20 mins. In the afternoon the wait is an hour+. I wouldn't call it un-organized. Compared to RevItUp last year, this one has much fewer people plus you don't have to pay this year.

Yup. There are certainly lots of nice mazdas there, RX-8, RX-7, Miata. But I heard by Sunday, there are already 3 cars that's gotten stolen....all expensive cars though. One NSX and forgot the other two.

I am also quite surprised about the RX8's power. It is much more powerful than I remembered. I testdrove one when it first came out at the dealer.
