water injection users at the track?
Just wanted to know who here is using water injection at the track and what setup you are running? more importantly what size tank are you using for the system. Do you go though the whole tank in a session? how long are your sessions? etc. Doing some research. Thanks

a twenty-five minute session pretty much empties the intercooler tank. aquamist with a number 8 (I think) size injector. That is run only over 10 lb boost set up with the 2d system.
good morning.
i am running my own custom designed system, with a properly sized nozzle for my 2003 EVO (much trial and error and testing involved). my engine is mostly stock, with a downpipe, cat delete, and muffler delete. i have 264/264 HKS cams, and the dynoflashed ecu. no boost controller.
in a 25 minute session, i go thru a little over half the window washer tank. i have the injection set to go of at 12 psi boost and above.
i would really recommend running h2o injection during track days; car runs really strong; boost and timing are not pulled even on the hottest days with the h2o armed and working.....

ps as my car is a 2003, and came equipped with the intercooler spray also, i leave it in "auto" mode when tracking the car. i figure on a hot day, it can't hurt! i'd say it uses about 25% of the tank per rungroup.

All depends on the size of the nozzle, what kind of pressure you're running the pump at, how early you have it activated, etc.
On my old Aquamist setup, I used to go through 3/4 of a tank every 1/2 hour on a big track like Watkins Glen, less at small guys like Lime Rock with shorter straights.

you should give that old, tired SE-R a rest for one event and bring the new EVO. i might even be talked into bringing mine and we could have a shootout!
see you at Summit in a week; i'll be bringing the H1 Civic Type S, and i guess i'll get to see if i lap you this time!!!!

PS is Eric Rosen's SE-R back in racing shape????
the evo has 1200 miles on it but won't see the track anytime soon....and yes, both the Se-r are up and running......just pray it doesn't rain

for those of you that are uniformed, both harper and rosen drive SE-Rs in the NASA race series (they run in small bore heat with me). one of the recent races at VIR started with all of us on the grid, bone dry. suddenly, about 2 minutes before heading out on our warmup lap, the sky opened up; heavy rain! i was driving my backup racecar, a 93 Probe GT that i run in PS-1. the SE-R guys were gridded behind me.... they weren't behind me for long!!!!!!
rosen passed me first, and then harper passed me later on and then...... well, if you want, you can see for yourselves! i have the incar camera footage broken down lap by lap, for anyone that wants to see it (right click and save as):
