UPDATE:
Thanks for all the replies!
I currently have three helmets at home now! My supplier was kind enough to order three different ones for me so I could find the best fit. To anyone who is in my same situation: they all fit differently. There is no standard size among vendors, let alone even in one brand line. Two different style helmets from the same maker can fit differently. It's hard to find any stocked at a retailer to try one, do find out if you can order and return a helmet before you go my direction.
Here's what I have to sample: Simpson Bandit, HJC 11, and a Bell. So far, the cheeks on the hjc are the most comfortable, Bandit the least. I am a "large" or 7 3/8 if you can find a specific fit, but most are just sized S-XL. I have worn each around the house for 20-30 minutes, and sat in car to compare eyeport visability. I am waiting till Friday to make the final decision. Yes, I'm picky.
But, I hate to waste money, and hope to get some good use out of mine this next season.
