When did anyone say that? That configuration was sufficient to win the national championship, but that doesn't mean everything on the list was necessary for that win.

In my region I already have several BSP national champions with very well prepped corvettes... Agreed, you need to tighten the nut behind the wheel more than you need to mod the car. As far as research goes, there is the research on what parts you want to buy. But once you have those parts, the research continues as you tune them to your optimal performance. Don't assume that once you have the parts on the car you can forget it... Tuning the car as a system is a never ending task of continual refinements on an event by event basis, and in some cases, on a run by run basis...I disagree. It depends upon the level of competition in the region. In my region, all it would have taken to win BSP this year would be to put up a clean run at seven events. In a more typical region, I think a lightly prepped car well driven would have been sufficient. Only in the most competitive regions or at the divisional or national level does it really cost to be competitive.
