Putnam Park Track Day

Predator Motorsport is sponsoring its annual track Day at Putnam Park race track in Indiana on Sunday March 26. Cost is $275. They run in 2 groups (fast/slow) and you will get about 2x as much track time as at a typical club event (Porsche/BMW). See www.predatormotorsport.com for details.

is this an evo-only invite? A couple of the former rsx-turned evo MR guys around chicago might be interested, but some of the "haven't converted yet's" might be also, i'll wait to hear.

No special marques featured. It's a "run what you brung" deal. Last year I had fun running with an Elise. There seems to be one of everything tho. The guy who sponsors it worked on the Evo suspension before it came to the US for Mitsu. In fact Mitsu brought a U.S. spec prototype to test at this event the year before it was released in the U.S. Typically there are about 15-20 cars per run group and, due to attrition (cars AND drivers) the afternoon is run as a single group and you stay out as long as you want. Respectable lap times in a stock Evo on Advans seem to be in the 1'24-1'30' range depending on experience. I am sure a very skilled driver could drop a second or two off that. I found I was at the top of 4th gear at the end of the straight stretch (125 mph) but did most of the course in 3rd. They only sell race gas there and the nearest station is about 10 miles away, round trip, so I always brought a coupla 5 gallon cans to fill at that station since I was averaging a whopping 5 mpg on the track and experiencing fuel starvation in the corners with 3-4 gallons still in the tank.

Wish I could make it, but it's my sons birthday that day. Next time though, I really want to run some 21's out there!

I'd love to go but being only one week after our Road Atlanta trip I don't think I'll be able to make it...or afford it. Sounds like fun though. All the people in this thread I've been wanting to meet up with, but never had the opportunity..excluding smokedmustang...we've already met I want to see that evo under full power! I bet that thing is a haws!

I can get to the track in about 2 hours from Cincy-depending on how much radar I encounter, 2 1/2 hours at the speed limit.

Anyone? Still a few spots left. Supposed to be sunny/dry/cold-perfect for those turbos. Three Nobles are coming, a couple of Elise's, and the usual mish-mash including Danny Popp in his 'Vette. Danny is a driver par excellance, coming in 2nd or 3rd last year in the One Lap.
