To all the #48 haters!!
You guys are killing me. I agree Nascar as in the governing body makes a mockery of the sport almost every chance they get and it is not my favorite form of motorsport even though I make living in it. I don't care if you dont' like or hate Nascar to play it down like it is just a bunch of no talent rednecks who throw together a POS and slap some no talent *** clown behind the wheel is completly wrong. I guess talking about things you know nothing about like your an expert is what makes the internet "the internet".
I invite any of you guys to come to my shop and we'll see what you think after you see what goes into one of these cars. That is especially extended to the Vishnu Boys since I'll be seeing you in Atlanta at Dyno4mance.

+1 I like all forms of racing, each one has it's own uniqueness, yet shares the basics of car, driver and competitiveness. I like how they are different and yet the same.

I appreciate the invite to the shop I always am interested in that aspect of it, just too bad the millions of Nascar fans or the events itself arent. Besides you act like the same thing isnt happening in garages all over the country, down the street, under a shade tree- unfortunately Nascar has noting to do with it that comes from the sweat and innovation of production based racers. Ive been priviledged to be around a lot of racing and on a few crews, the people of all racing are similar. Unfortunatelly for whatever reason Nascar got the nod to be hoisted into the spotlight and shoved down peoples throats the "talented" and "enterprising" people follow the money- too bad the powers that be picked the farthest circuit from the perfomance driver to showcase.

Also I resent the "expert" comment, I not once tried to "Big League" you . I do not work for vishnu so it is unfair for you to associate them with my opinions on the circuit your involved in. I have requested a name change many times.

B: If you are not associated with Vishnu why would you think to have that for your screen name? I think that is a honest mistake on my part for assuming you would because your screen name is modeled after most Vishnu employees screen names. I think you would understand why I was under the impression you work for them.
On a side note: Why do think Nascar is any less man and machine functioning as one than any other form of motor sport? Driving any vehicle at 10/10ths on any type of circuit requires the utmost concentration. Nascar is no different there than any other form of racing.
It does bother me that other forms of racing are in the shadow of Nascar but, I've never said or implied that they deserve any less credit that the team I work for. I grew up working on race cars for free because I love it and I respect any racer that does the same but, because they do not get the exposure they deserve is not a reason to hate on Nascar.

I just don't "get" the point of NASCAR. I'm sure that its far more difficult than it looks but I just don't understand why driving in a circle gets so much admiration and respect from so many american fans while driving around a twisty track like F1 guys do or driving ***** first down a dirt track like rally guys do gets little to no attention (as evident by Speed dropping rally coverage). I guess its a matter of what you like, I would much rather watch rally where they hit maybe 160 km/h on the straights and have to really throw the car around than watch NASCAR where they hit 300 km/h, but its basically just doing turns for 500 laps. I prefer to watch the driver races than watch the car races, but I'm just weird like that.
Really im not a nascar fan but i love watching the road course races, and if you think about it, a car that big with
700 hp,
huge sticky tires
and if I understand "no powersteering"
if thats true, thats some crazy skill considering the power, weight, and everything else. its not my bag of tea, but its a crazy skill never the less.. abit a boring one to watch for me..
but i'll never diss the drivers, maybe the marketing and the mass media surrounding Stock Car Racing in general
But really, if you think about, besides the brilliant marketing Nascar does,
The availability of the venues, and the meens to keep your eye on the cars at all times
Thats a HUGE draw for people, its not all bad, but if you think about it, as Nascar has gotten bigger, so has other seires like ALMS, GT etc.. and the drivers are starting to cross over more. just look at the drivers in the Daytona Prototypes..

I was at the 500! Props to Jimmie. Dale Jr. was working up the field when a caution came out! He lost the draft towards the end. Worked his way back but had no drafting help!
They have power steering.
I like all forms of motorsports, (except lawnmower racing) lol
Its all competition, different forms of it, they all have their own aspects. it all boils down to get to the finish line first. I do give props to nascar for breaking out of their old stereotype, and being mainstream, I mean 200,000 in attendance and 37 million watching on tv, those numbers arent bad , while other forms of motorsports are being torn apart by stupid politics and insanely high competition costs.
NASCAR drivers are race car drivers, a lot of them moonlight in other series and yes a lot road race.

Also notable and not from the south, Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick, Casey Mears and Robby Gordon. Thats WA, and three more CA's right there. Yeah its a no brainer to go around an oval and maintain 150-170 in the corners and not hit the wall or spin out. Piece of cake.
