But seriously, these guys are talented and driving a car at 200 mph next to a wall trying to sneak past another guy doing the same is a difficult skill and at the top of the motorsports ranks. I just think it's boring as hell to watch, and would prefer to do/watch road races and rallies instead.

^ So true, and in almost all genres of auto racing (and probably most other sports too). My father wanted to build a VARA (vintage) Mustang and was talking to someone about parts for a 302 (maximum displacement allowed at that time), and the guy asked "Why do you want to build a 302? You know everybody is running 327 strokers"
