Sebring 2006
So Paul was kind enough to invite some of us CSU guys to help crew for the race... with one catch, we have to transport a 996GT3RS from Denver to Sebring... now. 30 hours later we arrive, sleep 3 hours and get to work. The car did have some issues that were unexpected and cost precious time. Long, long hours working into the night making a splitter that Paul/Sebring destroyed in one lap, numerous alignment and setup changes, but despite everything seemingly going wrong, watching Paul eat the back half of the field alive was priceless. Every lap he passed at least one car, until the car ran out of fuel, but he still coasted to a 21st finish. The Volvo should be a front runner when it's back. Thanks again for the "adventure," pit-passes helped to get the super close Audi shot.

So, what's next on the schedule?
OT: Donour and I were wondering if you were going to be available anytime in the next few months for a track/instruction day at PPIR. I need some schoolin!

). It was a tough deal with the eleventh hour entry of the 24 Porsche and it certainly didn't go perfectly (far from it) but it was a grand adventure as Joe said. We are all quite a bit more tired due to it all but a little smarter as well. I'm always happy and lucky to have them around.
and some much deserved rest to Joe, Tony and Doug
Uhh Joe.....the engine is on the other end of the car. And this isn't wood shop!
Paul, that's a hell-of a model pose for you. Your working on your blue steal...aren't you? ADMIT IT! BTW, please tell me you got that email I sent out earlier.
Give 'em hell in two weeks silly.

Paul,
Sorry I didn't call. Thought you weren't their since I didn't see any Volvos. Found out on Fri you were in a Porsche. Came by but you hadn't made it to the track yet(ahh, the life of a Driver).
We had a hectic week with many all-nighters. The whole crew is new except for two of them and it shows. None of the new guys have any race team experience. I'm going to hang a few more races and see if it smooths out. So, I'll catch up to you at St. Petes.
Our first driver got punted out so hard in turn four that a connection for the ignition came apart and he couldn't re-start. This was his first WC event. Welcome to Pro Racing.
Second drivers car wasn't ready for qualifying(glad I'm not the crew chief) and started at the back. Got wholeshot award for passing 11 cars on the first lap. Spun late in the race and finished 16th.

Give it time though, pro racing isn't at all forgiving but that's what makes it so satisfying when is goes right.
