And you didn't come by to say hello!?! I had a rather bad weekend with constant car troubles, It was a team rented older spec (2001) WC 996. The Volvo will be back on for the next race...

There was certainly a lot of cool new stuff on display. Audi R10s on the top of the list of course

 

Do you have a pic of the car you ran? I would've loved to stop by and stay hi.

 

Not at the moment but if I find one I'll post it up...I was the guy that started from pit lane and badly misfired for the entire race (if that rings any bells, it certainly rung mine!).

If I remember correctly, you started in pit lane with the Audi R10-not bad company!

yea, I worked my way up to 17th only to run out of gas on the last lap eventually finishing in 21st (ironically my sad qualifying position), so it looks like I just started and finished in the same spot but it was more eventful than that. Pitiful but eventful

 

Regardless, it's quite impressive to even finish a 12 hour race. Did you manage avoid contact with the LMP and GT1 cars?

So, what's next on the schedule?

OT: Donour and I were wondering if you were going to be available anytime in the next few months for a track/instruction day at PPIR. I need some schoolin!

I'm waiting for the tape-delay showing on Speed in a few minutes for touring and gt, can't wait. I was hoping Irish Mike would have a better start to this season, but I already heard it wasn't a good day for them. I have avoided results so I can enjoy the showing.

Let's see, wrx and srt-4 in touring? yes. Sti launching soon in gt? yes.


I want to see an evo in either class!!! I hope they let them in soon.

sorry to hear about your misfortune - Volvo & you have some time to put your car back to together. I have a pic of Derek Bell in the Volvo from Sonoma last year - pretty sure the S60R looks the same; Paul?

Was the skyine in this race? I heard it finished 24th

 

Yeah, 24th out of 29 or so running. They mentioned it quickly at the beginning, but gave 0% camera time to any back markers .

The racing was good in GT, but it wasn't so tight that they couldn't show the other GT guys who were off the first 5 cars pace. Same poor camera coverage in Touring, no shots of the back guys (srt-4, or the wrx but it did drop early).

There are only 18 laps, it's a sprint race so I was not impressed with the camera work, but I should be grateful Speed is showing something other than a nascar program. These are great races to see in person, and access for fans is great. I try to hit at least three ALMS/ Speed world challenge events each year.
