Green RA1's

I have a track day coming up this weekend at Hallett and have just mounted up a fresh set of shaved RA1's. Last time I drove around on the tires before my first track day but this time they will be green. Are there any special concerns with green RA1's or can I just mount them up and go at it. Do they need to be driven on before they are put on the track? Thanks

jeff

just out of curiosity...what are green RA1's? Are they really green? or is green a term that means something else?

Those questions make me sound newbish.

The green ones are an extra $20 per tire -- frankly, I don't think it's worth it. I'll save $$$ and buy the black ones.

Is it shaved?

If it is, no need for heat cycle. They are good all the way down to the cord.

But becareful if it's full threaded.

It'll take few sessions (pending on how hard you drive that is) to get the grip level up.
