R compound longevity for track use

Just curious how many days folks are getting out of their R compounds on the track.

I've got 6 on my R888s this year (mostly 4 25-min sessions per day) and they are looking like they may not make it through the 7 more that I have scheduled.

What sort of life are others seeing from NT01s, RA1s, etc.

Thanks.

A local guy corded one of his four after 3 auto-x days (about 15 runs total, each ~ 1 minute in length).

Care to elaborate? What tire?

A-stock car with limited camber? lots of wheelspin? Flatspot b/c of no ABS? 15 runs seems VERY low.

I have about 25 twenty minute road course sessions on my RA1's, along with about 2000 miles of road use. They look like they have about 25% tread left, but then they get good.

All depends on driver style and type of tire. Advan AO32s dont last long at all where as the Nitto NT01s seem to.

and whether or not you heat cycle the tires correctly.

For more wear, Yoko Advan A048 and Michelin Pilot Sport Cups are best. They are still an R compound tire but not nearly as soft as a Hooiser or Kumho. You can also heat cycle the tires prior to use. This will help extend the longevity as well.

I also can't picture that happening unless something went wrong at some point .

I have ra1's and I've gotten about 7 track days with them. The tires still look decent, perhaps 3-4 more track days.
But I have street wheels/tires and I switch them at track, so they are dedicated track tires.
