Nasa @ Cmp 5/6-7
I should be there helping out some of our customers. I am thinking of puting the evo in TT if I can get the coilovers on before then, assuming they still have room in the run group.
Yep, hi Todd. What time are you heading out of MD? I figured life might be easier heading down there with another driver.
I tried picking up some brake lines and pads this weekend to no avail. Looks like I might be completely stock.
Going to be there in a White '06 RS.

hi thomas.
i need to go to aberdeen friday morning to pick up the racecar at the shop. hopefully will leave the shop around 9-10 am....
you are welcome to travel with me, but remember, i will be towing an enclosed trailer, and won't be making the kind of speeds that you can do when cruising in the EVO

It's best to just cruise. It's a long drive.Perhaps I could meet you at the shop.

i'll second that a lightly modded EVO on R rubber should easily dip below 1:50.0. the current record for H1 is 1:49.3, and if it is dry/good track, that record will almost certainly fall by 1/2 sec at least this weekend.
the fastest H1 car is right now a 2000 civic SI with a K20A in it. rules for that combo are totally stock engine (except for bolt on header, exhaust, intake, and computer). he's running ITR brakes up front, Progress suspension, and 225-15-50 Toyo tires. he must weigh a minimum of 2400 lbs at the end of the race.
the EVO is alot heavier (estimate 3425 with driver?), but has almost twice the power and more than twice the torque. the EVO has a alot more tire, much bigger/better brakes (with ABS), a much better chassis, and of course the AWD. i bet a "good" EVO would turn a low 1:48 or high 1:47.
bravery really helps at CMP, too, as there is that high speed "kink". i haven't driven my EVO there, but i bet compared to my H1 car, the EVO would feel super super stable at speed thru the kink. my H1 car ages me by about an additional month every time i try to go thru there ***** out; i guess the honda engineers didn't design 1995 Civic hatches to go 130+ and maintain stability thru a corner! the car gets really really nervous at those speeds, especially in high speed corners and during initial heavy braking; i am seriously thinking of adding some type of wing in the near future (although i hate the idea of what the car will look like with a "shopping cart" handle on the back!).
