Putnam Park this weekend!! Lots of seat-time!!
I would love to play, but thae last time I was at Putnam, I ended up in the tire wall between 9&10, in Michael's race car. It was a long trip home. I don't need to do the same with the evo. I might bring it up though. It will be a wanna be. Lunchtime touring if allowed would be something I could handle. The 50 mph speed limit is way to tempting!!!!LOL
Neato, a course in Indiana. Not too bad of a drive from STL - we're about 4 hrs from Indy I think in total, so a little under that.
Wish I'd known sooner, they always schedule these things on holiday weekends and I make plans early. Jealous of those involved... Hoping to get into the October event though, pm'ing for info!

Would it be possible to get an idea of the course (relative complexity, speeds, closing speeds) and competition there?
Got some info on the October 6th date. Hoping to make it then...

I'm hitting ~130mph on the front straight and taking turn one at ~75-80mph while full throttle. Man, I love doing that.
Complexity: Easy
Competition: Umm...it's OT.
Hmm, I don't think I quite hit 130 on the front straight. I do take turn 1 around 75-80 though. Are you planning on running the NASA event on sat/sun after the October 6th open track day Chris?
Corner exit onto front straight, 95mph, at crest of the hill before braking for turn One, 140+
Your results may differ.
Stock Evo i think i was hitting low 120s on the front straight, and then heading into the tight right about 90.. cornering speeds anywhere from 35 in the tight one, to 75 in the faster ones.

Show off.
I think I get around 125 on the front straight.
I had to show off a little, i am proud of my team.
Off topic, do you still have my #, I don't seem to have yours in my phone, and can't find the PM, it would be fun to meet up Sunday morning at the speedway.

I'm not sure about doing the Nasa thing at Putnam anymore. They schedule way too many people and the traffic becomes a serious issue. I'm not happy with the OH-IN/Midwest merger at all. There's some PCA clubs I hit there that never over register and run a very tight ship.
Eh, close enough.
NASA has had a really big year so far, attendance is way up and a couple of events have sold out. They put a 20 car cap on each HPDE field at Beaverun and it worked out really well, even on a small track like that. The last Putnam event was a twin-region event, hence the unusually large numbers. I haven't heard anything about MO being sold out for next weekend yet, which is surprising since the Nationals are only 2 months away.
