However, the class he is running in, some might agree with your opinion.
Whatever series it might be, the car and driver are still fast.
Not really sure why Richard came out of left field and brought that up in this thread though.

Also the unlimited car being 400lbs lighter helps some too

Yes, they did. It was discussed in the other thread:

Oh, please elaborate on Mod's allowed to ITE Evo's and this event's "unlimited" Evo's.
Thanks!

Case in point.
If you are so good as to be able to qualify last, and win, like that, driving, like that, then you my friend should be buddies with Alonso. I however think your a decent driver with a rediculously prepped car. 2ND Place was a 928 if I remember correctly, what did he have done to it?

Closest competitor was 3+ seconds off, thats good racing? I'm sorry to just call you out like this but seriously you are either way better than the world knows your just driving the fastest car at a mediocre level. Then another time you were over 10 seconds a lap faster and managed to blow it?

At the National and Pro levels, the rules are lengthy and specific with regard to what you can and can not do to enhance the performance of your racecar. To those thinking about taking up racing who would like to develope their skills and garner the respect of their peers, I have a word of advice. Do not aspire to ITE. I'm sure Kent is having fun and see no reason to criticize his driving. I'm sure he would appreciate hearing things to work on from those with more skill. I'm sure RRE has learned valuable lessons about making this beast faster while maintaining reliability. But let's not kid the inexperienced. The intensity and challenge felt in any class where the other guys car is as fast or faster than yours is missing here.

( ie my 928 is rated at 312hp and has a set of headers, no ecu changes)
so, when you see a car like kents, you understand that it clearly is at a prep and performance level of the new vipers, maybe almost to the comp coupe level now.
Kent and Johns work have clearly shown as the car and the driver are improving on a month to month basis. No need to bag on the competition. The M3s are running 285hp at the rear wheels , slightly less than the 928 but at a lighter weight. In the following race, not on this video (race 2) the vipers were very close, as kent had a tough time winning that race. had Dearing not had a mechanical or noise violation, he would have won in the GTS viper. the 2nd place viper was a driver also with rookie status and having a great race with kent, where kent came out on top making less mistakes and running times in the 1:37-8 range.
you want to see kent car have some competition, he should either bring the car back to its orignial HP of 330 at the wheels or show up at a SpeedGT race and see what other cars with similar mods can do. Just for refererence, an old 928 with the same mods and configuration as my car withe stroker engine, ($17k installed) runs 1:35-7s all day long at Laguna.
Also, The little acuras from real time racing were running as fast as Kent, and those are the speed touring cars!!! (driven by some top drivers , Cunningham, Curren and new rookie Branden Davis and Nick A.) anyway, in the race, those guys run 1:38s in a sub 300hp car, but real light. The pack i was in for race 2-3 was a couple of Speed Touring cars, one a $120k per copy BMW driven by John prall. we had a gas of a race, and i just happened to come out on top. our cars were pretty evenly matched. that field was pretty packed and its too bad a couple of spots up, kent didnt have the other viper to race with. anytime you have a race and a group of 4 cars exchange the lead once in the race, you have an awesome racing experience. Kent could have had 3 cars up front, while we had the 4 just behind. (2 M3s, 2 speed touring cars , acura and BMW and myself in the "fat" stockish 928)
speedGT cars run 1:32-3ish, including some of the new viper drivers to the series.
this is where kent will have to be to be competitive in a class that his car fits now!

Lot's of weak sauce, especially coming from someone who owns TWO Evo's. Why don't you humor me, since you know so much about jokes(at least who is and isn't one) and take some time and tell this forum all about your Evo accomplishments
I concede I'm not as experienced or talented as many guys out there. I've never stated or posted to the contrary. I've been tracking cars for nearly three years and this is my second season of road racing. Maybe one day if I'm really, really lucky I can be half as good as you on a track and start slamming other people I know very little about.
You never answered my post regarding ITE.
Do you know of ANY class, at least on the west coast, where our team can endeavour to build a road race EVO to go any faster than ITE with SCCA. There are NO restrictions other than the car having a VIN #(tub chassis) and must run on DOT's.
It seems like you're slamming me, and our program, more because of our competitions short comings and their inability to narrow the gap. Or maybe you just want me to slow down about so you can come racing against me in one of your TWO Evo's.
There are too few of us racing Evo's. There's Bongiovanni's car in USTCC, Santo's in SCCA running in T2, Muellerized in SCCA in ITE and SP and of course you on your computer keyboard typing away from the field on these forums. Good job representing the E vo community! With your talent and knowledge you should take one of your TWO Evo's and come racing. Hey, you can even take your race Evo and take it to Time Attacks!!!
Oh, I've got some interesting facts for you:
Scorke ryhmes with dork
A dork is a whaler's term for a whales weiner
Whales weiner's are quite big
So is it safe to assume that Scorke is a BIG WEINER!!
Have a nice day-WEINER!!!
SORRY FOR MY PART IN HIJACKING THIS THREAD

^First off sorry if you took so much offense with the comment about you being a joke, again to me, to win in something like ITE by the gap's that you did speaks very little about your driving. I would love for you to comment on how winning a race where the closest competitor is 3-4 seconds away is something to be happy about? Unless, as I said before you are in an equal car, and you are an exceptional driver (which could be the case, if so just go ahead and tell us how much better you are than everybody else racing ITE on the west coast) or your car is just THAT much faster.
Whats your big deal with somebody having two evos, I can think of at least 3-4 people on this forum that have multiple ones, is that a problem? I do not race either of my two evo's because I cannot afford to, I used to race a miata, but stopped.
I track my evo on the road course, I again cannot afford track tires at the current state of time so I do not get to do it as often as I like, after replacing all my braking components except for the caliper's my wallet has been in quite a bind and therefore I cannot afford to track let alone race my car, is that a good enough reason?
Back to the REAL facts. You KNOW you win because your CAR is faster, not YOU. Go build another rocketship in some mismatched class and come tell us about it, or show us another video of you starting in last and taking the field, thats obviously raw talent, nothing to do with the car..... and secondly don't lecture me about not racing two of the evos my family has as a way of attacking me, how much have you dumped into your racing "endeavors"?
Scorke
p.s. Please oh please post up a link to that video where you started last and finished first, I would LOVEEEEEEEEEEE evom to see that, just to see how competitive the competition was........ and regarding your question about the difference between ITE evos and this shootout's events evos, I do not see why its valid? Do you race these evos? Do these evo's race you? Did I ever compare you to these evo's no just your car to ITE standards.
KENT JORDAN FTW!!!!!!!!!!! Was this the only one you wrecked, or were there more? I guess you had 2 evos too...

I'm not personnal offended by your comments about my driving. I know my current limitations. You still haven't addressed my question regarding a better venue for racing our Evo. Why? I do find it ironic that we catch slack for driving so much faster than the competition.
We road race our Evo. In many cases 3 times a day. In some cases back to back races. Both in ITE and recently in SP(super production). We race in the SanFran Region which is arguably the most prestigious within the country. During these race sessions we lay down laptimes that are unmatched by any other Evo(or Subbie for that matter) whether it be during a road race, time attack or time trial. We routinely establish new records, not just ITE records but lap records by any other Evo. PERIOD. And that's with me, a second year racer, behind the wheel.
In the process we have developed a reliability record that is second to none.
Anyhow, I guess I must have rolled off the wrong side of the bed this morning. Meanmud is right, I "kinda" went off unneccessarily and will edit my last post. But your still a weenie till you recant.
BTW, we were back racing less than 2 months after that picture was taken.
