Watch your stainless brake lines
SS Lines
Sorry, my apologies, i was responding to your words from my e=mail, Warrtalon, i didn't see the context of your reply, and seemed to be flippant on a subject that has turned personal to me. i've got Works lines and though they seemed "Works Quality" it's causing me alot pain=no driving time.
what lines?
i've read many posts of yours and feel i know very little of this car's potiential compared to you. so to hear that much of your time has been on stock lines is incredible.
as far as the brakes themselves, have you upgraded them? would you tell me what Lines you finally chose?

the bolt in rollbar is tight. Used the locking paste and double nutted the bolts i used.
lol funny thing is our car is on stock lines as well. btw ALL the cup cars are on Stock rubber lines, 24 hour races 1 full season and yup still on stock lines. why? cut one open and see what you find inside.
When I was down at PRI a couple of weeks ago I asked Stoptech where the hell the 6 piston front, 4 piston rear kit is for the Evo. I was telling them how we are on Stock Calipers using Girodisc 2 piece rotors. and we hadn’t had a problem yet but I want more brakes in the car so Leh can push it harder. So he breaks it all down for me. This just made so much sense to me i figured i would share it.
The Stock Brembo rotors are POS for road racing no shocker to most of us. The funniest thing is all of the direct replacement brembo, Centric/SportStop, Powerslot ect are the same. The way the stock rotor is designed it is meant to keep rotor warranty to a minimum. Does it cool well; nope actually holds a lot of heat in the rotor. the venting on the outer part of the stock rotor doesn’t vent much heat. this gets the entire rotor hot which will help keep excess build up of pad material that causes warped rotors or warranty claims.

What about future plans for the 6 piston front, etc?
They said they are working on it. they said they will not do a 4piston rear for the EVO. so if they offer a rear kit it will be a 2 piston st22 setup with the 6 piston up front. I would expect it next year 08 sometime. if it shows up early great. Ever sence centric bought them they have been working on OE Stuff.. so we got to wait.
As far as why they arnt offering the 6piston 4 piston setup here was the answer.... Stoptech designs brake systems around some factory components. such as the ABS system and the master cylinder. running the 4piston rear with a 6 piston front would cause a soft pedal. With the piston size in the rear of the car the front would have to be increased and the master couldnt keep up...
