Bye, bye Michael....

Interlagos 2006, love him or hate him, watch the race. Seriously.

One of Michael's finest drives ever. He didn't win the Driver's title nor did they win the Constructor's title. But man, that was something else. Just shows how comptitve the guy is and just as ever never, ever giving up.

Still the best driver on earth IMO. Can't believe he has retired...

p.s. a great drive by Jenson also.

no doubt, Michael is the greates living driver. sad to see him leave F1 but i'm excited to see new young talent for next year and we'll have to see how many records Alonso will take away from Michael in the future.

greate drive for Button. wonder where he would be if he had qualify better.

Well, next year we've got:

Alonso, Massa, Kimi, Nico, Keiki. Not forgetting Red Bull will have cars designed by Adrian Newey + Mark Webber. Williams will get Toyota engines and Gary Paffett and Lewis Hamilton will probably be snatched up by one of the front runners. Looking forward to it already.

Back to Michael, there's talk of him doing a number of things. But whatever it is, I'm sure he'll continue to be a hero to many for years to come.

Yeah.. a real pitty to see the best driver of all the times retiring but 16 years in Formula one is a lot. This guy has 568 millions of Euros(multiply that for 1.25 and you get the amount in dollars).

The typical job for Shumi would be a TV comentator, a Ferrari asssitant manager or perhaps a young star hunter. No matter what he does the Formula one will truly miss him. Now without him we might have to see other sharp drivers having to steep up to the plate.

Lets see what Kimi can do with a Ferrari on his hands.

i sure do love Honda, probably the reason why i started watching F1 in the first place. this is there first year under full factory support in a long time and i think they did fairly well. Honda has won championship before, so i know they are capable but with the current drivers on hand, i don't think that's going to happen for next year. i think Button and Barrichello are great driver by themselves but compare them to the top drivers in the field, i don't think they have what it takes to win a championship anytime in the near future. who knows, i would love to be proven wrong. they were in 2nd place for the 2004 Constructors Championship. for next year, i think they'll finish somewhere in the upper mid pack. i'd like to see both Jenson and Barrichello on the podium more. Barrichello has been kinda of a let down for me this season. i know it's a new car for him but a good driver should be able to adapt quickly. it looks like he's still figuring out what to do with the car. at least Sato was more fun to watch, he likes to take risks.

We will have to see. There are many drivers changing teams and they must adapt to their new cars. For instance, Mclaren is normally a one-two stop pit team whether Renault is a two-tree pit stop team, drivers will have to get use to such type of things..

Renault had their 7 speed trannys on the R25 and R26 when the other cars were 6 speed etc, etc.

Next year I don't expect any driver leading the other drivers by much, I think it will be a share podium for a few drivers on the first races.

I'd say to watch out for Heiki Kovalinen, that dude can be a surprise next year with the Renaults. I also think Kimi could surprise with the new Ferrari.

How about the pass on Rubes during the end of the race, and he waived bye to him
Even that was topped when he passed Kimi and that was just crazy, I was going nuts watching it, another 10 laps he would passed Button and Alonso.

He'll definitely be missed next year. I hope he's involved with F1 in some way, shape or form!

Some facts:

The 12 fastest individual laps were by one person. Michael. His fastest lap was 0.715 seconds clear of Massa.

After pitting for a tyre change, Michael was 63 seconds behind Kimi. 59 laps later he passed Kimi.

The Super Aguri's are unsung heros of the day. Ranked by personal best laps, Takuma Sato set the 9th fastest lap (of each driver). Even more amazinglt, Sakon Yamamoto set the 7th fastest lap. His fastest was only 0.1 slower than that of Kimi.

It is 146 days until the 2007 Australian GP.
