Thunderhill on Friday was a odd day for me.

I ended up being on only about 3hrs of sleep on friday. The guys I shared a room with where recreating Miami Sound Machine with their nostrils as they slept.

It was a instructing day for me so I only got about 60 or so on track miles which of course was fine by me, espically with no sleep.

It was about 60-65F ambient temp out so it was pretty cool. The track was pretty cold all day long, which made for interesting driving. My car is way up on torque since I last drove thunderhill so more torque + cold track made for some "interesting" moments.

There was a big assortment of cars out. I should be posting the video of me chasing down a Ferrari F360 , getting on his *** in the straight and sticking to his *** for a whole lap before he finally let me pass, then chasing down a radical, me getting completely sideways in turn 3 two feet off his rear tail-lights before setting up a pass that was then knocked down from him passing a miata, but alas, I can't because I forgot to turn on my video cam. Doh! That was the most fun I have had in my car in 6 months.

It was also the first time I have ever had a miata match my acceleration all the way down the front straight. I guess a GT3071 turbo and a 2.0L stroker motor does wonders for those miatas.

So what I will be posting is a video of me driving in the afternoon on a even colder track with Jason as my passenger, getting the tailout in a couple corners , spinning all 4 tires on power in 2nd gear in turn 11 coming into the esses, passing a bunch of 1XXwhp cars, passing a baja bug (wtf??), and then almost losing it in turn 1 at over 90mph.

So now I present the bobble head video:

Let me know if you convert it to wmv/wma. I just can't stand Quicktime and won't download/install it again. Sounds like it would be fun to watch!

ahha, baja bug I believe. Instructors bring strange cars out. I think mine was the one normal one there.

Hey, I was there too! Black RSX-S in the front of C group (just because there was NO traffic!), I decided to say screw it an moved up to B group later in the day which was just as fun. Plus the drivers in group B could actually drive well, and thats always a plus! Oh here are some pics...enjoy

HAHA yes I went a bit over the top. I had just got the front end of my car repainted recently and the track day combined with the drive to Thunderhill would have been rock chip heaven! So I just tried to avoid that...and it worked

I've seen worse.

Gruppe-S - Weren't you pitted right next to me? At first when I saw these photos I thought you where the black RSX-S that flew off 9 and ripped it's back bumper off but then I remembered there where two black RSX-S's out that day.

My student drove the silver RSX-S.

Yes I pitted in the covered area very close to you. Also, that was definately not me who flew off the track! Hopefully I will see you next time we decide to go out to the track (two gruppe-s employees went out on the 17th, myself and Alex in the blue WRX STI).

Someone could take all that painters tape off and make an entire bumper mold for a RSX ... but I do have to say that was meticulate work and must have been a shame to take off ...
