PS. Did my first event (auto-x) on the new Gerrard-spec Ohlins and 285 V710s, and all I can say is WOW. Might be my first 1000pt day, although it's only a winter event with half the cars. Still, though, the car was retarded fast - faster than I could react. I'm glad I get to run this stuff unabated in TTS this year!

Pwnage.

I will do a full writeup with lots of install pics after I get time to settle in and get some rest. We spent 15 hours yesterday with the install, corner balancing, and alignments. That was flanked by two 2hr drives, so it was quite a long day. I got home at 3am then had to get up at 6am to get to the auto-x early for my work assignment (registration). So, for now, I'm pooped, but I'll do a write-up on the suspension/tire/wheel install, then another for the experiences today at the SCCA event.

Brake cooling ducts are free for 07, so are a few other things that are of interest to me:
Free stuff:
Brake pads
Brake rotors
SS Brakelines
Air filter
Radiator
Clutch
Flywheel
BOV
Camber, castor and toe ... which means camber/castor plates and camber bolts are free ....

By the way Methanol (alcohol) injection systems are illegal!
Nitrous oxide is only permitted in TTR!

Thanks-I read that incorrectly and thought they were only allowed in S, U, and R classes.
Anybody know who sells the best Evo brake duct kit?

I don't like that one... very clutzy. I just want something like a more crazy version of the OEM brake air guides.

Does anyone know if the KW Variant 3 coilovers fall within the +10 or +3 category according to the points? The rules state:

"Non-OEM shocks/struts/dampers with an external reservoir or more than two ranges of adjustment +10 (example: compression (bump) and both high & low rebound adjustments)(must still take points for springs below)."

or

"Non-OEM or modified/re-valved shocks/struts/dampers +3 (all others)(springs not included)"

Robi just asked that question over on the NASA TT forum.

I've heard this before, but the specs from their respective websites don't reflect that. Can anyone confirm this?

(not that I don't trust you Percy! )

Hey Greg,

I don't take it personnaly
I've compared hooisers side by side with RA-1's and other tires, and Hoosiers are WAAAY bigger. I was meaning to say that they are bigger or as big as a 255 RA-1, not 275. the specs that they put on their site are not accurate, even according to them. I know that I will be faster on a 245-40-17 hoosier than on a 275 RA-1. There are other reason as well. The Hoosier has a much stiffer sidewall, and I also run 9 inch rims, not 9.5's so they will probably fit perfectly, w/o spacers. I will also be having my suspension optimized for this size and type of tire this winter.

Do the TT events require a full cage or just a roll-bar?

It looked to me like a full cage, but I was having a hard time finding any TT specific rules on the website..

Neither. However, it is strongly encouraged to use as much safety equipment as you can afford or is practical.

TT has HPDE safety rules, so no cage or roll bar is required.
