Ok, cool, thanks.

Agreed though, as much as I can afford. But, i was thinking of doing a few events late in the season but won't have a cage then (just an autopower roll bar i have now). Cage coming next winter as i need the car on the road for this year..

A roll bar will be more than most TT cars have anyway...

Holy crap! I just read the tire rules more carefully. Have I read this correctly??
If I run a toyo 255 RA1 I take five points. Then I get back 10 points!! for being 40mm under the max size for TTA of 295. Is this correct??
If it is, I would have plenty of points available for future mods. I could also take off some lesser mods (rear strut bar, lip, VG/MR gurney flap, bumpsteer kit, LICP) run on 235 RA1's (+5 and -2) and stay in TTB.
Also, can you make major changes to your vehicle mid season as long as you are still compliant to your class?
Thanks for any help.

No, I don't think so. You only base your tire points off your base class, which is TTB=255.

No. The standard Evo VIII is base classed TTC**. The "standard" tire size for TTC base is 245. That means you get 10mm for free - 235 'stock' to 245 ' TTC standard', and and +1 for the the 10mm to get to from 245 'TTC standard' to 255.

Clear as mud, no?

2005 Evo VIII:

TTC +14
255 RA1s +6
cams +6
ECU (WORKS P2) +8
TBE not cat +3
Buddy clubs +5
Hotchkis sway +2
Fuel Pump +2
Lower braces +3
Rear strut bar +1
Bump steer kit +2
VG/ MR gurney flp +2
front lip +2
no trunk carpet +1

57 total points to stay in TTA I believe I now have this correct? Greg? Thanks very much for any help figuring this out.

Or take off the front lip (-2) and throw on some stage III WORKS Ohlins (+4) and be right at 59 (and lose a great deal of weight in my wallet
(note: I do have a stock throttle-body and the +4 LICP is coming off))

Stock airbox and ic piping? Boost controller? If no to those two things, you are correct in your points. These five things sure eat up a lot of points:

Lower braces +3
Rear strut bar +1
Bump steer kit +2
VG/ MR gurney flp +2
front lip +2

That's a lot of tire right there....

I should be at 55 points come April, unless I jump to Hoosiers.

Thanks Greg!! Drop in filter and no boost controller.
Yeah, if I get my butt kicked by Hoosier equipped cars I might have to bite the bullet and take off the braces, etc. and drop big coin for 245 Hoosiers.
By the way, we will be at Grattan (my favorite- "home" track) in June-have you ever run there?

No problem, glad to help. I've never been to Grattan, but I'm really looking forward to it.

I don't mean to presume anything, but I could certainly help you there line-wise etc. if you you think it might help you I can run that track in my sleep, but it has a few tricky spots.
Mid Ohio is the track where I need some seat time. Should be easy, given how often OH/IND runs there.

The "final" rules are posted on the TT website - add another two points for a reflashed ecu... Also the tire points have changed due to our 'base class' tire size changing.

Tire sizes:
Base Class TTC = 255mm
TTB = 265mm

That ECU penalty is harsh. Ouch!
