You may be surprised. I know a couple nat. champ EVOs that sold in that ballpark. They were technically still new cars (never titled), but they were not SM cars. SM takes $$. Both have gone on to either win multiple championships or come close.

Personally, if I were someone who was really into autocross and wanted to try to win a championship in an EVO - I'd be all over that (if I didn't already have 2 EVOs of my own ;-)

I know it would cost far more than that to duplicate it, not to mention all the suspesion R&D you've done. You can't buy that. Your car will be a great deal for the right buyer.

I guess I am just not sure what I would like to do yet. I suppose if I decide to sell it, I will just post it up and see what happens. You are right though, it would cost easily $45-50K to duplicate my car. Not counting labor, or development. What is up for you guys for this year?

Andy is going to co-drive with me again this year. Last year we threw all the parts on the car and tried to learn to drive it as fast as possible "as-is". We tried to adapt ourselves to the car to get faster without really spending much time tweeking. We never even had the car tuned until a month or two before Nationals. This year we are going to focus on refining every system of the car to get it from 90% to 100%, based on datalogging and test/tune sessions. No big component changes, just optimizing what's already there.

I also want to see if I can get it below 2800# without spending stupid amounts of $$.

I hope to finally take it out to an HPDE or one of AMS's track days to open it up a little bit.

As for the dragstrip, I plan on having a time slip in the 10's by the end of the year. . . that's my goal anyway!

These are the lightest 18x9.5 rim that I could find. 17lbs each.
Mark,

Buddyclub P1 QF rims are the lightest I have found.

18x10 +12mm offset 16.39lbs
18x10 +35mm offset 16.10lbs

I think he was saying that for 18x9.5, those were the lightest.

BTW, I've been told by Buddy Club directly that the 18x10+35 is not availble. They don't even list it on BC Japan's website. If you have a contact that has either of these offsets IN STOCK please let me know. From what I've see there is not an EVO in the US with 18x10 P1QF on it yet. . .

I would believe the Buddy Club weight, if I had actually seen one. I know the Volks will hold up to high lateral G's, I have not seen anyone running the buddy clubs on a heavy car yet.

I have been running the P1 QF 17x9 +35mm rims for about 3 seasons now.

no problems what so ever.

The us distributer http://www.buddyclub.com advertises the 18x10 +35 on their site. they are located in the San Diego area (I think)

Like evolutionary said, I don't know of anyone running the 18" rims at all due to the lack of availability of buddy club rims in general. It was hard enough getting the 17" rims that I have.

The cost of the rims is in the $600/rim range. it depends on the size and offset. I bought mine used for around $2k for the set.

FWIW, my buddy club P1 QF rims are 13.8lbs on my bathroom scale.

Here is BC's reply about the +35's:

We do not have that wheel available. And even if Japan was able to produce it, we would need to order 10 sets of those same wheels.
And it would take MINIMUM 90 days to make.

On a different weight topic, does anyone know how much a DC Sports or Full Race exhaust manifold weighs? The stocker is around 15# I believe. . .

12# 1oz--just weighed mine on digital scale. I put a GT Spec header on the car that weighed 7# 15oz

I had to offset the new ARC intercooler weight--just over 12#

None of the products you just mentioned can be considered "affordable". I would recommend spending your money on running as many events as possible, tires, wheels, suspension in that order.

My wing and splitter were custom made and cost almost as much as the Ohlins Flag DA shocks on the car. . .

So the GT Spec EVO exhaust manifold weighs just under 8#?

Which ARC did you get? Is it the stock width or extra wide?
