Sebring 12 hour race!
This will be the first year in the past 6 years that i won't be physically attending the race. And that sucks because i really wanted to see the Indy drivers, Porsche's, and Corvette Vs. Martin. First 3 years we were in our rig on the inside streach between turn 1 and 2, just past the Turn One Club. Then got sick of all the rednecks drinking asswiser, pissing on the rig, and fighting nearby. That and they jacked the price to park up, as the guy stated above, freakin $1k.
For those of you who are questioning buying the 80 dollar weekend access ticket, you can save some bucks if you just want to go "the day of" and park in what they refer to as "VIP parking" by the hotel. Drive past the track enterance and pull into the hotel, there will most likely be a gal or guy there stating 20 bucks please, pay that, and go straight rather then turning in at the first left for the hotel, you'll notice a blocked off little patch of gravel leading behind the hotel (well its gravel for about 10 feet, then grass) That's where we went the last 3 years. You get hotel restrooms, good food, and your up on a hill on the hairpin across from our boy in the Corvette tent. You can still purchase the day of ticket and walk around the track, if you so feel the need too. About the only thing i enjoy anymore is the porsche/audi/vw/benz parking area, hawaiian tropic girls, and being able to stand on top of the pits at the end of the race when they hand out hats....hats........and more hats....
But for those of you going, you suck, get me a program for this years race

Yeah, the snake pit got hit hard by the torential rain yesterday evening and today in the afternoon! I'm having a good time in the pits and walking to turn 3-4. You can see a lot of action on both sides of the track!
Curran put a hurtin' on everyone in Speed GT yesterday. And that car was finished being built Sat (apparently they had no intention of even running a 2nd car) then it caught fire Wed. They fixed it and then set fastest lap in practice and qual 2nd. Pretty Badass.
Aschenbach has also moved to Cadi....he had a good showing in 2nd place for the first time out. I think Pobst was behind him.
Speed TC was 2 Mazda6's beating up on everyone except Cunningham.
The other races were littered with cautions b/c of the rain...oh well.
Sebring is a weird place though. Many, many rednecks who could care less about racing. I saw more nasty couches, scaffolding and empty beer cans littered all around the track.
I will say if you have the chance to wander the paddock, that is absolutely awesome. There are billions of $$ of equipment in there. Totally staggering. Michelin alone has 6 52' trailers for their tires, doesn't sound too crazy b/c it's a 12hour race, except Kumho, Yoko, Goodyear and Hankook are also there. Audi was quite impressive as one would imagine, as was Penske and Corvette. Seemed like the Aston teams kind of pailed in comparison (in terms of their gear and organization).

Loved the race. Sat in the pit box this time to enjoy more of the pitstops, ect. Highcroft was under me along with Flying Lizard. Nice to see Acura take it too'em there first time to Sebring. P2 2nd overall ?! WOW!
I am sure you've seen clips by now or read it somewhere but basically de Melo and Borgmeister were 1-2 on the final lap (like Nils said, definitely amazing after a 12 hour race). de Melo was maybe a couple seconds ahead but then made a mistake mid-lap allowing Borgmeister to close to a few lengths (tires seemed to have gone off). Borgmeister pushed up on him and after a couple attempts got the pass and looked good coming into the checkered flag, but de Melo snuck in on the inside and then tapped his rear quarter just enough to unsettle him and squeeze by to get the flag. Amazing finish.
Was really fun to watch.

I had a blast. I was really hoping that the Acura could have pulled off the upset. They were the best sounding cars there all week to me.
The Speed WC and Touring car races were bad *** But that IMSA GT3 race hurt my hears. The big wreck with the 4 cars on the front straight happened right in front og out trailer. Sucked to see all those nice new GT3's banged up like that but I guess that's racing.
Green park was and experience. It's was my first time at Sebring so I will say that over there was...different.
I had a good time. Next year if I am here, I am doing a damned pitbox though.
