on a 1.5 mile runway without a hard launch i think i made about 160 mph. i have it on video with my cell phone while i was driving (i know, maybe a little crazy)... with stock limiter 170ish is top speed (i've hit that), so with an extra 700 rpm you should be nearly 180. with pump gas and stock turbo evo8 i would question hitting the rev limiter in one mile, but it is totally possible as i was reasonably close (although that last 10mph goes REAAAAAAAlLY slow, and sense it only takes 20 seconds to do a mile when going that fast, you need to be pulling hard to get that last 10mph in the mile.

You guys are retarded. "Frum Taxas" was in reference to the old saying that "everything is bigger in Texas"...Instead of 1/4 mile, they use the full mile. More appropriately, it was implying that all Texans imbreed, which is shown by the lack of comprehension displayed here.

1. Purchase a stock 2005 Evo 8.

2. Find a nice, flat, straight strip of road with no obstructions.

3. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

4. Reset the trip odometer to 0.0 miles.

5. Press the clutch in.

6. Put the gear selector in 1st gear.

7. Press the gas pedal down to the floorboard.

8. Once you're bouncing off the rev limiter, let the clutch out.

9. Once the car redlines in 1st gear, press in on the clutch.

10. Put the gear selector in 2nd gear.

11. Let the clutch out.

12. Once the car redlines in 2nd gear, press in on the clutch.

13. Put the gear selector in 3rd gear.

14. Let the clutch out.

15. Once the car redlines in 3rd gear, press in on the clutch.

16. Put the gear selector in 4th gear.

14. Let the clutch out.

15. Once the car redlines in 4th gear, press in on the clutch.

16. Put the gear selector in 5th gear.

17. Let the clutch out.

18. Note the speed indicated when the trip odometer registers 1.0 mile.

19. Let off of the gas pedal.

20. Brake and downshift as needed.

21. Post your findings in this thread.

Mike1023,

Me and Sergio(Evofunk) have been collecting European car magazines since early 80's. There are a few European(Spanish magazine and others) that test the cars in a 1km, 2km mark and total top speed.

It might be hard for me to retrieve the 1 mile mark but I can certainly get you the info on the Evo on the 1km, 2km and top speed.

If you want you can go ahead and send a PM to Sergio(Evofunk) he has a database that he created that it took him about 2 full years to accomplish, this data base is the abrevation of the dynos, top speeds, acceleration, roll acceleration and a huge amount of other test.

These are the type of info I get to see and that otherwise goes unnoticed to Evo m. This Evo 8 MR does the 1000 meters at 134mph (.63 of a mile) and it takes 24.7 secs to cover that distance

That is the kind of $hit I read in other forums in my primary language, the real test with real top speed and dynos. The second link I psoted shows you speed at the 1kilometer mark, speed at the 2kilometer mark and real top speed.

You guys gotta love me..

Carlos
