Mike1023,
Me and Sergio(Evofunk) have been collecting European car magazines since early 80's. There are a few European(Spanish magazine and others) that test the cars in a 1km, 2km mark and total top speed.
It might be hard for me to retrieve the 1 mile mark but I can certainly get you the info on the Evo on the 1km, 2km and top speed.
If you want you can go ahead and send a PM to Sergio(Evofunk) he has a database that he created that it took him about 2 full years to accomplish, this data base is the abrevation of the dynos, top speeds, acceleration, roll acceleration and a huge amount of other test.
These are the type of info I get to see and that otherwise goes unnoticed to Evo m. This Evo 8 MR does the 1000 meters at 134mph (.63 of a mile) and it takes 24.7 secs to cover that distance

That is the kind of $hit I read in other forums in my primary language, the real test with real top speed and dynos. The second link I psoted shows you speed at the 1kilometer mark, speed at the 2kilometer mark and real top speed.
You guys gotta love me..

Mike,
If you have an Evo 8 and you are asking to find out the 1 mile speed trap and time how come don't you do that then? You posted how to go from first to 5th gear and how to properly meassure the 1 mile mark so my question is: why don't you do it instead of asking?
I was trying to help you out on page 2, I hope you know how to appreciate my help. If you find my information irrelevant then that is fine with me but if you think posting/showing me how to go from 1st to 5th and cover a mile procedures then we have an issue(sarcasm).
Please, be considered /respectful with me, I never have malicious intentions with anyone, if you don't like my info then ignore it. I still wish you find the stock Evo 8 mile trap speed/time.
Thanks!

If I can find a safe place to do it, I might give it a shot. Don't expect a reply real soon, though.
400 meters= 1/4 mile
1000 meters= .62 miles
2000 meters= 1.24 miles
1 km/h= .62 mph

I keep telling ya, Carlos...you are too ****ing nice and this what you get in exchange. You spent countless hours on EvoM trying to spread some good info and this is how ppl appreciate your inputs
oh, btw...I do have a 1-mile acceleration test in a german magazine with a stock 04 Evo 8, but at this point you will have to buy a g-tech to find out. I don't feel like sharing anything on this jackass crowded thread.
...I'm not as nice as Carlos
Maybe this will help:

Looks like he topped out at an indicated 160mph (even though the Evo 8 is supposed to be electronically limited to 156mph). Most speedos read higher than actual road speed when you're going that fast. You wouldn't know your road speed unless you used GPS or something similar.

In my experience with my lightly modded 2003 Evo 8 on the track, the car accelerates really briskly until around 120-130mph or so. After that, the aerodynamics and short gearing really catch up with you.

He claims it's stock except for a turbo-back. I wouldn't expect it to go any faster...especially if the ECU wasn't reflashed to eliminate the speed governor. And he was short shifting a bit (never past 7K rpm).
