No it's not 1" of movement. We measured it with a dial indicator with someone standing as hard as they could on the brakes and the end of the master cylinder moved about 1/8" of an inch (.125") We made a brace that integrates with our battery tray and it reduced teh movement to only .030" .

thanks, so based on this info... do you feel a significant imrpovement in braking performance? as much as say.... going with stainless steel brake lines?

i installed my brace serperate from installing my ss lines and i would say it is noticeable during a quick hard stomp on the pedal. not nearly as much as when i installed the lines but you can feel it.
