Predator Motorsport (www.predatormotorsport.com) is hosting a track day on July 1, 2007 (less than 3 weeks away!) at Putnam Park race track. Cost is $300. Two run groups: fast/other. You will get tons of track time since there are just 2 run groups. See their website to register.

We are talking 1st car off @ 9:00. Two run groups, so run 30', off 30'. Break for lunch, then 30' per hour again, so minimum seven 30' sessions. Typically by afternoon, the 2 groups merge and you run as much as you want. And typically, many drivers are exhausted by mid-afternoon & start packing up, allowing even more space on the track.
At the moment just 14 drivers have signed up so there will be lots of space on the track in each group. I expect that number will double by July 1 but it is never crowded.
As you know, most sponsors run 4-5 groups and you spend the majority of your time watching other people run . And, when you are running, its in 20' segments, counting warm up & cool-down. Also since there are so many cars on track at the same time , there can be more "incidents" causing you to pit and watch your precious track time drain away while the track is cleared.
Further, with so many cars in each run group, you may never get a lap where you are not held up be a slow poke, or a train of slow pokes. Very frustrating, as you probably know.
Predator's approach squeezes a ton of high-quality, open track driving time into a single day. So less $ on hotels, time away from home/work, etc.
I think its worth it. I have done 10+ events with them. I am not part of Predator but am friends with the owner though driving their events.
