Holy crap. Sounds like some forgot to tighten lug nuts after swapping rims and tires befre the race

Yes, several threads already along with the explanation for why it happened. For the 100th time, he didn't forget to tighten the lugnuts...

I did note that some of the lugs seemed to be sheered right off at the hub and others had some length to them.

Whatever it was I doubt it was stagged as I don't know anyone who would do that much harm to a car on purpose. Then again its stunning that all four came off together. You'd think maybe one... two... but all 4?! Poor bastard.

Why do people not understand what shearing is? The studs didn't shear, and lugnuts don't shear, the threads strip, they don't break in half....

Nice 1st post? I'm pretty sure people know what shearing is. The story said nothing about the threads stripping. It was said by those who witnessed that the studs did indeed shear off. I don't mean at the hub - I mean in the middle of the stud...

From the video it looked like some were at or close to the hub.
