I totally know what you mean about being able to make changes quickly in turns - that's why I wondered if you were going to drive a static racing line or drift. If you commit to the drifting line/setup it's easier to make adjustments mid-corner. But it's much harder on tires and typically has a steeper initial learning curve on Tarmac. What type of cars did you co-drive for?
We've run BMWs every year, which is also where I have most of my road racing experience. Good chassis balance and ease of driving by throttle has been a big advantage.

Best thing I've learned to be safe and quick in the Evo has been left foot braking. What a revelation. As for wear and tear, I'm expecting to eat through brakes and tires. I've got 6 RA-1s which will start at full tread and will be rotated into service to even out the wear over the 5 days. Brakes will get swapped out during the event as needed.

Yeah left-foot braking is killer. The first time I made the car turn by working the brakes was the coolest feeling. On gravel rallies it is totally magic - you feel that you can make the car do anything at anytime. I've been using it ever since.
