1) Year of Car - 2006 MR
2) Estimated HP - 280 actual whp at 5500ft ASL in Denver (est 310whp at sea level)
3) Total Track Days on Tranny - 2
4) Tranny Oils Used - OEM, just switched to 1qt RL SP Heavy, approx 1.5qt MT-90
5) Total Miles on Tranny - 20k

The 2nd track day consisted of 4 solid 20 minute sessions in 97°F ambient temps.

No failure yet. IIRC at point of fluid change, the stock transmission fluid (with 20k miles) looked a little cloudy at best, but didn't seem to be saturated with metal particles. The drain oil was not filtered and drain plug is not magnetic, so it's impossible to guess the quantity of shavings or paticles.

I am pretty sure the transmission is out the door soon, had shifting issues at Pocono that I hadn't experienced before.

1) 2006
2) About 250whp, just a tune and exhaust.
3) 40+
4) Stock, I change it after every other race.
5) ~17,000

6) ~17,000
7) Soon, anticipating April of next year after the first race
8) Won't shift to 4th
9) 5 speed conversion and Setrab cooler.
10) Stock

I think the 6 speed failure is inevidable, but I think at a HPDE level most of the people should be OK, I would put on a Setrab cooler to be safe though, I think with that and frequent fluid changes you may be fine.

Tsurara, the # of track days (races) that you've gotten out of your 6-spd is crazy. What courses did you mostly run your car at? Are they fast tracks? What were your average speeds?

8) Type of Failure - 3-4 Shift Fork (possibly more)
9) Solution (rebuild, 5-spd conversion, tranny cooler) - New 6 speed
10) Oil Used during failure - Stock

Now with Redline Shockproof Lightweight and Exedy Twin HD (stock clutch before)

Looking into doing a tranny cooler

Car was run at Summit Main and Shenandoah on HOT days. Nobody told me RR wasn't drag racing. No missed gears but I shifted the living hell out of it.

Looks like what disabled the car was the transfer case!! As we get it pulled apart, it appears the front diff is absolutely demolished.

Crossing my fingers!

I plan to change tranny/diff fluids at 10k intervals since the car doesn't get all that much daily use.
