Totally agree. Lightweight DEKA battery FTW.

get rid of it.

removing the spare doesn't change the balence of the car much, but it will shave a couple tenth's off your times.

if you are really concerned about dropping weight in the front, ditch the AC. It weighs almost the same as the spare tire.

My AC isn't going anywhere for a few tenths of a second. I'm definitely going to do a small front battery kit though.

Anyone know the front/rear weight balance of the IX offhand? How about the RS?

Ive won my class at events with it in and with it out. I think if your a beginner, and you drive the car on the street with it in, you should leave it in during an event.

Everyone has their own theories, but I have seen way too many average drivers run faster with passengers and spares in their car than without. I think a better driver will always gain speed when weight is subtracted, but again if your towards the middle or bottom of the learning curve seat time is the best mod.

I say leave it in. It'll give you an excuse for when you have a bad day and your times suck.

I leave mine on when I go to the track...I find the car is more stable with the spare on..
