Even though I'm an Alonso fan, after everything that transpired this year I was pretty happy that Kimi took the championship.

 

did they ever say what was wrong with hamilton's car, re: the neutral lockout issue?

I don't think there was anything wrong with Hamilton's car. I think he was over anxious to make up for the lost position, he just put the car into the wrong gear or press some wrong button by accident and made the ECU went hey wire. The ECU probably had to reset itself and by that time he lost 40 sec.

I think it was more of a human error then mechanical error.

I don't think FIA is going to penalize the other teams, if they do then Ferrari is going to fight back by saying that Hamilton blocked Kimi during Kimi's hot lap. Which I thought Hamilton did tried to block Kimi.

But big congrats to Kimi
