my first PDX at Barbers
my first PDX at Barbers
Went to my first PDX at Barbers this past weekend held by the ALSCCA. What an awesome event! I had been to the track a few times to watch and work events but I had never driven it before. What a gorgeous track to drive. The surface is amazingly smooth, the corners all flow up and down, it was great. There ended up not being as many drivers as they had thought so we got EIGHT 20min sessions! Actually a lot of people were so tired that by the last few sessions I almost had the track to myself.
My car handled great! She’s got 96k miles and been through 4 tough years of autox with stock suspension but that didn’t cause any problems. I did revise my brake system with the help of some of my friends. I changed out rotors, put in SS lines, Motul fluid, new Ferodo 2500 pads on the rear and Carbotech XP12 pads on the front. Needless to say I had brakes for days out there! At all the corners I was waiting till the last marker to brake.
Over all it was an amazing day. I would highly recommend this track to anyone, well worth the money for sure!!

well i'm working on it! i've been on a smaller track near my house, Talladega Grand Prix track, several times just never on a big one like Barbers. i guess i've stayed busy enough going to other events just never had time to do one. i had a great time at this but i still love my autox!

Wow, nice. I wish I would have known about this! I would have been there for sure... are there any local forums that I could join to find out about any upcoming events like this? I was just at a track day at TGPR and it was a blast.
