Top speed of a 9, 5-speed
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. My experience states that you're not "Slow In Fast Out" of T8 at Willow-in all vehicles. I'll give you a 200hp Superbike will see faster speeds in the chute, but slower vehicles (like a stock Evo IMO, or a 650R-which was the last bike I raced there. Heck the factory 600FX bike hit it's limiter at the apex) will reach terminal velocity at the apex. Due to the tire spinning faster at the apex, the rpms actually drop as you straighten out.
Your "HPDE 101" doesn't work for T8.

So I was over at Mueller's today, and low and behold he shows me a video of him driving an Evo 8 ON STREET TIRES, flat out through T8. So you can go flat out through T8 in an Evo, John..? Uh yeah, it's worth a couple of seconds.
Im not sure why youre saying that, because i dont recall anyone saying you cant. Well, at least i do recall that i never said you cant. If everything is on point, you should be able to go flat out through T8.

Something's not adding up. If on street tires you can stomp on it leaving 5, and not lift until 9, or never mind that, just flat from 5 to 8, the fuggin thing is gonna see 140+ in 8. John was having to work the wheel preety hard, the car was all over the place, and was bouncing like a super ball.
I dunno.. Whole thing has me perplexed. I guess I'll just have to wait until I experience it for myself. The car seems to handle almost amazingly, but then the weight kills it, but then the power picks it back up.. Whole thing has me confused..
Heavy car, at 3200 pounds. Wanna-be stock cars at Willow are at least that, and have turned .17's from what I'm told. Yeah they have 5-600hp, but we're talking .17's here. Gotta be wrong. 911GT2 on a pan that's increasingly getting weak and being replaced by tube, but still has the front half of the car sitting on the pan, 500-600hp depending on the boost, and I don't remember what it was, 2200lbs... .22's at night by me, who had a total of maybe 8-9 laps in the car before this point. Other driver who had over a year in it,was a second faster.
A brand-new GT2 with proper set up and driver apparently is capable of .18's. Never verified by me.. Roughly 10lbs/hp, OK the 911 is gonna be faster, but 10 seconds? 10 seconds is a year and a half on the track. The more I think of it, the more I question a beat up stock car doing 17's. I'll have to search Mylaps for that one. You don't get lap times unless you hit it in a couple of key areas, and 8 it the top of the heap. Not only that, but if you're flat out in 8, you should be able to handle 2 and 9 well. You do what you need to do, the times will follow, but I'm not seeing it.
Heck, maybe you guys are right. While you can go flat out, the car just doesn't build a lot of speed through there, which is maybe why he was able to go flat out on street tires.

Btw, regarding that video that John showed you, other Socal peeps have seen it also. Im pretty sure he showed you the same one i have seen. I could be wrong, but iirc the Evo he is driving in that video has his JIC coilovers on it. Either way, it can be done. Just get out there and find our for yourself.
