My First AutoX Pics (and video)
Hey guys,
Well I went to the Houston Regional SCCA Solo Event #2 yesterday (2/3/08), and man did I have a blast. I competed in my unmodified TB Lancer Evo IX SE. Finally driving the car at the limits showed me just how much I have to learn... and how amazing this car really is. All my mod-money is better spent on me- this car is fast enough for a while.
I competed in the STE class. For those of you outside of Houston, the Houston SCCA splits the stock touring class into several ST* classes because of increasing competition.
My times got better over each of my four runs, and my final run of 50.428 gave me first place in the STE category. This just goes to show how good the car is despite my driving... nipping at my heels were a Mustang GT, an older BMW 5 series and a Mustang 5.0.
My wife took care of documenting the day with pics and video (our camera isn't the best as you can tell) when she wasn't co-driving with me.
Here's a link to the video of my 3rd run (crappy quality, but excellent filming thanks to my wife): http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...3900039149.htm
And now for the pictures:

My wife and I before the final run!

I'd love to see more Evo's out there; the STI's were represented way better
. Here's my shout-out to Mike... hope to see you at the next one, man!

Welcome to autocrossing! Be careful, you might get addicted. Then you find yourself doing something retarded like spending $2500 to shave off 16 lbs of unsprung weight.
BTW, they had you misclassed. The Evo got moved out of ESP a couple of years ago. You belonged in STB, which means you would have come in second.

Do you know where there's a link that shows the update? Thanks, I'm always open to having help.

Yeah, I think I saw you heading out right as we were getting started. Did you have your girlfriend with you?
