Where to buy HKS Final Drive?

I'm looking to reduce my revs so that I can carry more speed in 3rd and 4th gears, so I've been thinking about buying the HKS 4.11 final drive. Any recommendations on where to buy this from?

I would think TRE or Shep can sell you an FD. Not sure which brand they are though.

Check w/Cal @ SpeedElement in Fremont (510) 226-8822. He may be able to get them.

call HKS USA, and ask them to recommend authorized HKS dealers

Evo IX.

The problem is simple -- the rally stages I run regularly include very high speed sections where I'm right at the FIA top speed limit of 200kph. The problem is that my current 4th gear maxes out at about 185kph, and 5th gear is geared way too low to be useful.

I'd rather lose a little squirt off the lower gears to have that extra top-end in 4th.

IIRC, Daddio has the 4.11 in his SM Evo. When he put it in he loved it. He didn't think spoolup got killed or acceleration. The taller gear actually creates more load at lower rpm helping the turbo spool quickly. Of course we're usually only concerned with 1st and 2nd for autox.

Isnt the JDM RS 5th gear of .825 considered homologated and therefore legal for US competition? It might be easier to find the JDM 5th than an HKS 4.11, I know they were hard to locate in the past.

The part is actually made and sold by Kansai Service. The link below is to More Japan which is really Tanabe USA. They sell, stock and distribute anything that Kansai Service makes here in the U.S along with a few other JDM brands. Good luck.
