Question for you guys, I was wondering where can you buy the 3.73 final drive..I know that TRE has an option when you get your tranny built by them..Was wondering if you can purchase it separately?? And has anyone ever really rebuilt their own tranny??

sorry for bringing this thread from the dead..but is there anyway of buying 3.73 from anyone anywhere..is this possible..i dont want 4.11 or 4.0..

i want the longest ratio i can get..anyone can help me with this...

My Airtrek is 3.3, I hate it and I can't buy a different ratio. I'm going to have to get gears custom made and I want the 4.0 or 4.11. You could always swap to a 5 speed auto from an Airtrek to get the 3.3??

 

3.3 would suck for sure, anything longer than a 4.0 IMO. You would need some serious torque to make the car fast and not drop out of the powerband on a 3.73 and it would put tons of stress on the drivetrain especially on launch.

 

Dude WTF kind of power are you looking to make....I have 4.11 gears with 750whp and the gears are LONG...you are just going to break ****

 

my car is a FWD ..it is a lancer with a evo engine..i have spinning in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gears so to me the long ratio will be so beneficial.my tourque is around 400ft/lb on the wheel and around 450whp..

when ever i race i start from 4th gear...

 

i also dont wanna go for 3.3....3.73 is good enough..it should be fun..

I don't think there is a shop that makes a final drive upgrade for a base lancer fwd...I could be wrong tho.

 

U mean on a roll? Detuning the car by taking it out of the power band with the final drive is the wrong way to go about it, I would either detune the motor or get some mickey thompsons under it..... My buddy spins in his 600hp honda hatch but not that bad.

i never launch it..yes i start my races from a roll around 80-90kph always on fourth gear i can't even start from 3rd.

i am runing 2.2bar of boost FP GREEN 98octane..

so if i get a longer ratio.it will allow me to start from 2nd or 3rd at least..it will be better..

btw on 4th the spinning is not much

 

still nobody told me where can i get the 3.73.....?
