I just signed up for both days.
A bunch of friends from work were supposed to go (STI, A4, Cayman), but they chickened out at the last minute. They’ve never done it before, this should be my 4th time @ the Glen. I’m just wondering if anyone here is going?

 

Glen rules… I’ll be there at the end of May.

 

Im going to Glen as well by the end of May. Have to finish and test my car before I make the trip to Glen.

 

Yeah I will be at WGI again this year, but not until the summer/fall.

 

Yea, me too. If I finish my car I’ll be there with GVC BMWCCA on May 10-11.

Also, are those some (homemade?) brake ducts that I see under the car? Did you have any brake fade?

So the open track days are certainly not a competition and the Corvette was on street tires and I really should have moved up to group 3 but it still felt good (big fish, small pond).

 

These are the hot lap kit, I just routed them under the car. I didn't have any fade.

After watching the videos, best was 2:25. Most of my laps were around 2:28 - 2:30 with a couple of 2:26

It was great 2 days. BTW, your car was fast enough for group 4.

 

Cool. I was there for the first time this spring and I swapped in some DS2500s for the event. No fade for me either. My best timed lap was a 2:23 but I think I might have done a little better in a later session (where my instructor inadvertently reset the stop watch ). WGI is fun!
