Using trail braking to rotate
I agree that having it in the tool box is not a bad idea. I am also sure there are turns and situations where it could be the way to go even if you have a suspension that works well.
I would also point out that the more I learn the more I find myself using throttle to adjust my attitude in the turn, more so than brake. I look forward to playing with the Zzyzx suspension and learning to dial in exactly the sort of action that in the end suits my needs and style.

Hah! I'm not that smart.
I don't know and don't have room in my Cranium for that much information. I figure I paid a knowledgeable suspension tech to do it for me, and if it does something I don't like, I'll just cry about it until he fixes it.

I compress my braking so much that I tend to go into the corner with them simply out of necessity. I really need to back off some (as is evident by the fact that I plowed a mustang last year doing that) but I have gotten quite used to being able to go full throttle way before the apex since the car is rotated from the trailbraking. I'm no expert on tire wear for sure, so I may very well be heating up the rear too much. All that said to say: I used to, but I'm going to try to give myself more space during braking this year so that I can try to corner w/o TBing.

By the way - Summit was PERFECT yesterday
I only trail brake on slower corners, the slower the corner the more I trail brake. The faster the corner the less I trail brake. At higher speeds I don't even bother because I feel it is unsafe. There are different thoughts on what is faster and different driving styles that different drivers utilize. People tend to tune their suspension to suit their particular driving styles. Depending on the suspension setup trail braking may not even to a viable option, meaning the car may be prone to spinning out undertrail braking conditions.
