Harman Motive's class win/record with NASA TTU at Buttonwillow
Great day at Buttonwillow last Sunday for the Harman Motive team!
http://harmanmotive.com/catalog/index.php
We want to give big props to Russ Warr (Crawford's regular driver) for keeping the heat on us all day (literally!) while driving the sweet M1 prepped Evo. We were within hundreths of a second from each other much of the day until we got a golden lap in the last session in near 100 degree temps. Russ is a great driver, overall nice guy, and that M1 Evo is a proven winner. The intense heat of the day really tested our abilities to make the best of each of our car's strengths and weaknesses. Russ was on Kumho DOT race slicks and had a definite advantage while cornering and braking while I was slipping around on regular R comps but I had a power advantage on him that let me pull on him when/if I could get a good exit drive. Russ and I were also having to contend with a very fast Ford GT with huge Kumho race slicks all day, strange classing rules to have them in the same class as us but that's the way it is. BTW, all 3 of us were well under the existing track record all day so it was a battle to see who would leave with that claim to fame!
Also big props to Evom regular Ed "Beuller" for winning the TTA class in his Evo with an impressive 2:00 flat in spite of some car problems that he overcame.
Hope to see you all at the track!

JC, im glad you guys made it to this event, and that we were able to park next to each other. Not only was it fun to hang with you and Ryan, it also turned out that i needed your help. Its SOOO bizarre how things work out sometimes. I had such a difficult weekend, i dont know how i won TTA both days, was able to patch up my car, and drive home. A big thanks to supplying me with your transmission oil, creeper, tools, and unconditional support.
Despite all the competition and online trash talking, people need to know that the camaraderie between _most_ of us is strong.
Congrats with your win on Sunday, and the new TTU track record for 13 CW! Hope to see you guys more at our NASA TT events.

OK, no more smart-*** response...
I finally got some proper R comps for my car and did a 1:56 flat in warm up with a passenger, full fuel, in traffic, and in almost 80 degree weather. Unfortunately, the day got super hot and it took until the final session for me to get a 1:56.1 while still in Street class configuration plus these new Yokohama tires. I set the new class record but left a lot on the table due to the high heat conditions (upper 90's in the final race session). There was also traffic issues in every session, even starting on the initial hot laps.
Too bad I didnt have these tires last month at the Redline race. Cooler temps and these bigger tires would have easily put me at the top of mod class as well as winning street class.
Nils, speaking of good times dancin' and swimin' with loose bow-legged women, (we were?
), I'll be in V-town Thurs-Sun as my kid is racing in the MiniMoto Supercross race at the Orleans Casino. Come check out the race Friday night and see if the smallest Meynet can uphold the family name. If he loses, I'll have a kid available for adoption......

Im trying to keep up with Terry in his TTU Z06, and the second driver of the Ford GT, while trying to fight off Rodney in the bad-*** Red TTU STI. Man, that was a fun session.
^^^ That's cool! I didnt get to see them all posted before. I couldnt even see Terry at first because he was drafting that GT! Pretty cool perspective and a pretty fast crowd to be running with in those shots!

because you can see how much rubber I am leaving on the ground. Russ said he could see black stripes off my tires exiting most corners, now I see what he meant!
