Ok, even better - found one I can buy right now locally with no shipping worries. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to see if they'll replace it under warranty since it has those white/grey spots from the defect. If they won't because of the unrelated cut, then I'll just buy this one from a GG IX.

I like the idea of trying to get the dealership to replace it under warranty. If you know a dealership that is friendly, it wont hurt to try.

If you are ever (at least in the next couple years) planning on adding any front aero (splitter, etc), then I would get a good aftermarket wing such as the Voltex, APR GTC series, or Varis. Have the guy pay for what it would cost for a used stock wing - $250-$300. That will help a bit with the up front cost of an expensive afteramarket wing, plus you can figure that you will "depreciate" the new wing over 3-5 years, so your wifey can think of it as only an investment of a couple hundred $$ per year. . .

If you plan on sticking with the stock wing and are not a stickler on appearance, I would just cover the spot in epoxy, smooth it out, put on the gurney flap, and pocket the $300. If you work the epoxy into the fibers that are exposed, it will not hurt the functionality of the wing or the durability . . .

If that wing has worked out for you up until now, and there's a possibility of getting it warranty'd, that'd definitely be the first option IMO. If you're looking for a bigger wing, you should probably take into account the type's of tracks you run on, and get one that fits with the majority. I have the stock wing on a deck lid for most tracks, and then I have a GTC 300 I mounted on another for big Willow. Willow's a track with exceptionally high corner speeds, so extra downforce plays a huge role there. FWIW, the GTC300 is usually more then $1k, but I got it through a vendor on here (205 M-sports) for well (I mean WELL) under a thousand.

Had wrist surgery today, so I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to try and get it replaced. If that doesn't work, I'll just get the stock used one from a local. Jarrod, your resolutions are sound, but I think I'll go this route for now.

I've got to agree with zbomb. You won't regret Voltex for sure
